About Cathryn LYKES, B.A., INELDA-trained End-of-Life Doula

Cathryn graduated from Vassar College with a B.A. in French. She attended Aix-Marseille Université in Aix-en-Provence, France under the auspices of Wellesley College and completed summer language immersion at Middlebury College French School. She went on to achieve certification in therapeutic massage at the New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. 

Cathryn has traveled widely in Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East, volunteering with Save the Children in Amman, Jordan.

Since 2020, Cathryn has acted upon her spiritual calling to elder care, providing intensive caregiving services near end-of-life: first in assisted living facilities throughout the pandemic, then independently in-home. She has cared for over 50 seniors living within a wide range of contexts, abilities, and life circumstances. 

In March 2022, Cathryn completed  training with the International End-of-Life Doula Association (INELDA), equipping her to work more closely with the wishes, hopes, and dreams of seniors at or near end-of-life. It has been a highly rewarding journey. 

Cathryn is a registered home care aide in the State of California (ID #4600220121). She is grateful to act in service to seniors in the greater Nevada City and Grass Valley, CA area.
